Electrip: 10,000 km in an electric van with the ChargeMap app in the pocket!
7 May 2017 - 1 minute to read
Lionel Suissa, a loyal ChargeMap user, has set himself a slightly crazy challenge: to drive 10,000 km across Europe in his Nissan e-NV200, which he has converted into a campervan. ChargeMap is partnering this adventure, where the goal is to travel from Spain to Norway over a 35-day period.
Lionel and his Electrip team aim to show that electric mobility is now a reality and that drivers can travel right across Europe thanks to the availability of charging points. ChargeMap is set to become an essential companion!
ChargeMap is committed to supporting the Electrip adventure, as this project fits in perfectly with our company’s core values. We should also mention that Lionel is a regular ChargeMap user and a devoted ambassador for the e-mobility cause!
Before he set off, we took the opportunity to ask Lionel a few questions about his project…
Hello, Lionel. Could you tell us what motivated you to embark on this exciting adventure?
I’ve been wanting to discover Scandinavia for a long time. And ever since I found out about electric vehicles, I’ve had the travel bug! Personally, I like to take my time when I travel. Which is obviously why I decided to convert an electric vehicle into a campervan.
I must admit, I’m very ecologically-minded and passionate about it. The Nordic countries are ahead of the game in this area. And Norway is a pioneering country when it comes to electric mobility, so it made sense for me to take up this challenge!
How long have you been using ChargeMap and do you think you’ll need it for your trip?
I’ve been using ChargeMap since 2012 and, yes, I’ll be using ChargeMap for this trip, as I always do!
How can we keep up with your adventure? Can the ChargeMap community welcome you or meet you at different stages of your trip?
Of course they can! The ChargeMap community can follow our journey on the AVEQ blog (http://www.aveq.ca/lionel), as well as on Twitter (@lionelelectrip) and Facebook (Odysseyelectric)!
